You can now get action packed veggie slashing action on your iPhone for free with QuantumSquid’s Veggie Samurai. This game is a great time killer if you’re feeling a bit frustrated and want to (peacefully) slice things apart. The sound effects really bring this game to life, transforming your measly finger into a razor sharp samurai sword quite the satisfying slash.
Different game modes will keep you interested. In general, the gist is that you have a sword and there are some veggies that need slicing. The game modes include slashing matching veggies, preventing foreign veggies from getting into your wagon of lettuce, and slashing all veggies while avoiding toxic bottels. They all require quick reactions and delicate finger control.
Veggie Samurai is a fantastic way to spend your friday afternoon. Check it out for free today.

In July we reviewed Green Jump by Baboonix. It’s a fun doodle jump style game with some nice sound and artwork. The main twist is the environmental focus. It’s now available for free. Don’t miss it!

Whole Foods recently released Whole Foods Market Missions, which I intended to focus on for this review. It provides tasks like not eating refined sugar or making water your only drink for the day. When these challenges are completed, you get badges that you can share online with your friends. While looking at this app, I found Whole Foods Market Recipes. Market Recipes is truly one of the most useful apps I’ve come across in a while. If I feel like cooking but don’t know what I can find a tasty recipe, add its ingredients to a shopping list, then head over to whole foods and get what I need.
Whole Foods Market Recipes main function is an awesome recipe search. You can search by course, category (like budget, entertaining, cooking with kids, etc.) and special diets, with the addition of adding keywords. Once you get your results, opening a recipe gives you a short description, a photo for many of them, and the nutrition facts. Tabs for ingredients and method are self explanatory. With any recipe you can send it by email, add it to a favorites list, or add all of the ingredients to the app’s built in shopping list. Top it off with a Whole Foods locations finder and you’ve got your recipe, shopping list, and the nearest Whole Foods Market.
If you often find yourself staring into your pantry with no idea what to make for dinner, one incredibly useful feature is the “On Hand” search, which allows you to enter in up to three ingredients and search for recipes based on those.
I’m very excited about Whole Foods Market Recipes. It is the perfect app to figure out what’s for dinner tonight.

The guys over at 6th Mega have just announced an update to their awesome under water arcade game, Puff Puff. Use physics based controls to dodge obstacles, avoid predators, and explore the sea as a spiny puffer fish.
We reviewed the original Puff Puff and loved the pinch controls of the puffer fish. It is still quite fun to have a puffer fish expand and contract as you pinch your fingers. The backgrounds look even better. You’ll encounter globs of oil, protestors, broken pipes, and submarines as you try to survive as long as possible in this treacherous environment.
Keep your eye on this game. 6th Mega is doing a fantastic job listening to their users and improving their game.
